02/15/2024 Daily Devotion – You too have been called!

Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” — Isaiah 6:8 (NASB95)

“Lord, somebody has to tell them. Somebody has to explain to them how You feel and what is soon to come. Lord, the one thing I know is that Your message needs to get out! It has redeemed and saved me, and there are others (just like me) who need to be redeemed and saved. Here am I. Send me!” What does every believer have in common with Isaiah? We have been touched by God’s grace. God has made us born again by the power of His Holy Spirit. We are compelled to share this good news with our friends and family.

God has a message of hope, joy and salvation; but the only way that it gets perpetuated is by our willingness to share with others what we have seen and heard. We are all called to be witnesses to God’s working in our lives. There are even others who are specially called to teach and evangelize (be good messengers) of God’s love and grace. As we are daily witnessing to God’s grace, we can also support those who have been called to teach and spread the word by our prayers and financial support. But whether we are a daily Christian witness or an evangelist, our response to God is the same: “Here am I. Send me!” The Spirit working in our lives compels us to answer God’s call to spread the Good News.

Brothers and sisters, you don’t have to be a teacher or a preacher to heed this call. You don’t have to be Isaiah, Jeremiah or Paul. You just need to be a believer in Jesus, and the Holy Spirit will take care of the rest. Where does God want to send you today? Who does God want you to witness to? What ministry does God want you to support so that the message of His love and grace can meet another, and yet another, who needs to hear it? Join me today in saying to God: “Here am I. Send me!”

Peace,

Pastor Tom
