02/2/22 Daily Devotion – The other side of being firmly rooted!

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.” (Colossians 4:2–4, NIV)

The truth of these verses is critical to Firmly Rooted’s entire ministry.  Prayer is an essential aspect of the Christian life and this ministry’s life. I know in these devotions I focus heavily on being firmly rooted in God’s Word, but the other side of that communication stream between us and God is that we can pray to Him. We can talk to God and He promises to hear our prayers and answer back. This is true for a Christian’s faith. It is also true for a ministry’s walk. Your “watchful and thankful” prayer support has allowed us to see the doors that the Lord has opened to us for ministry. Now that those doors are opening, we must pray that our proclamation of the “mystery of Christ” be clear for others to hear.

I pray that this devotion is an encouragement to you to continue to study deeply and pray fervently, that the deeds of our lives and the words from our mouths may be a “clear” proclamation of the mystery of Jesus Christ. May this be true of the ministry of Firmly Rooted as well as the ministry of our personal lives.

Peace!

Pastor Tom
