“May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant.” (Psalm 119:76, NIV)
When we truly dig in to the word of God, we quickly find ourselves probing into the heart of God. His unfailing love for us is certain and true. He speaks to us through His Word in order to communicate that truth to us as we live out our lives in a world that is so tough to live in at times. Amid all the struggles and hardships of this life, the Lord speaks peace, love and hope into our hearts. We can see how faithfully He dealt with those who came before us. One can’t help but read the Psalms and be reminded of how faithful God is to His people and how much He is motivated by His love for us.
Jesus says in John 10:10, “but I have come that you might have life and have it to the full.” It is evident in the lives of the people we meet in the Scriptures, as well as in our own lives, that the Lord works hard to make our lives abundant and full. He works with and through our flaws and failures to bring us forgiveness and lead us into transformation. In describing God’s unfailing love, my good friend Dave is quick to say, “There is nothing you can do today to cause God to love you any more than He does now, and there is nothing you can do today to cause Him to love you any less.”
Today, let that last sentence ring as you think about how much God loves you.
Peace!
